Racing Helmet Face Shield in Wrapper, 1963-1965
THF154637 / Racing Helmet Face Shield in Wrapper, 1963-1965
01
Artifact Overview
Racing driver Bobby Unser used face shields like this one early in his career. Flying dust, mud and debris were constant problems on dirt tracks. The shield, which attached to a helmet, protected a driver's eyes. But the thin plastic shield would not have provided much protection from larger debris.
